Midwifery and Home Birth Services

Your birth, your way is your birthright

“When you get to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.” —Edward Teller

Midwifery Care

I have faith in pregnancy and birth as a normal process and trust in your ability to decide what the right choices are for your family.

If you choose to have your baby with me, you can expect to be the decision maker regarding your care during your pregnancy and your birth.  You will be fully informed before any procedure or screening is done to you or your baby.  Once your baby is born, your baby will immediately be placed into your hands or be born into your hands.  He or she will remain with you at all times and nothing will be done to you or your baby without your permission and a full understanding of the risks and benefits!

I will be at your birth as soon as you ask for my assistance and stay for a minimum of three hours after the birth of your baby.  I will see you again to check on you and your baby’s well-being at 24-36 hours, 3 days, 1 week, 2 week, and 4-6 weeks postpartum.  All care will be provided in your home or in my home office.  I will be on call for you beginning at 37 weeks of your pregnancy.  When on call, I will always be available by cell phone and will remain within two hours of your home.  I provide newborn screenings, Vitamin K, eye ointment and birth certificate filing after the birth.  I am also available in the postpartum period for questions and concerns you may have regarding your newborn and your well being.  I will be seeing you on a regular basis after your baby is born to assure all is well.
